GO BACK TO BASICS and get a clear idea of what you want to accomplish.
What problem(s) are you wanting to solve?
How do you want to feel in your new space?
Is there anything that you or your partner disagree on?
What is your real budget?
When do you want the project to finish, timeline?
What are your expectations from me?
How can I help make your space feel like home?
I will always ensure my customers are happy and satisfied, this is my # 1 priority. I do not collect any labor costs upfront, only when the job is completed, and my customers are 100% satisfied. Jeffery S. Owner, JWS Construction, LLC.
Use your imagination, and brainstorm your ideas on a piece of paper. Believe it or not, that is when your best ideas shine through. Find a solution to your problem. What are your must-haves and deal-breakers during your project? Your personality and your lifestyle will affect the expectations of your upcoming project. What is your property lacking, or what would help enhance your property? Find any differing viewpoints you may have before you begin, such as the wife likes butcher block, and the husband likes stainless steel. Find the most optimum solution within your budget and price range. Begin in phases, Phase 1 - electrical, heating, and insulation. Phase 2 - living space. Phase 3 - additional rooms or remodel. Knowing the timeframe for both homeowner and contractor is an important part of the process. Setting realistic and clear goals, and being able to maintain the timeliness of the remodel process is beneficial for everyone. Communication between everyone is helpful, so there is no miscommunication. Being comfortable in your cozy favorite chair matters. Having your space the way you want matters. Find out what you want before you start, for example, a big garden bathtub with heated jets, or a clawfoot bathtub for nostalgia.
